Toasty Walnut Pesto 
Difficulty: Beginner  |  Prep Time: 10 Minutes  |  Serves 8

  • 2 cups basil leaves packed
  • 1 cup of fresh parsley packed
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup walnuts
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper

In a medium skillet over medium heat, warm you walnuts, stirring intermittently, until they are lightly browned and fragrant, about 2 to 5 minutes. Once your walnuts are browned, add them to your food processor or blender. Gently pulse a few times, and add your basil, parsley, Parmesan cheese, and garlic. Pulse again a few times until all of the ingredients are mixed and coarsely chopped. Then, running your food processor on low, slowly and steadily drizzle in the olive oil. Run until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
